Adults

The Adult Department of the Secaucus Public Library provides both research and recreational reading, in addition to public and private study areas, comfortable seating, internet-access computers, and wireless access.

The Adult Department’s fiction and paperback collections include new and classic literature, including Science Fiction, Mysteries, Romance, and many other genres in the general fiction collection. Our collections also include DVDs, audiobooks, music CDs and literacy guides.

We provide access to our reference, research materials and special collections in our upstairs Reference Department, as well as rooms for private study.

Several clubs and groups meet at the library to share common interests and knowledge.

New members are always welcome!

Nonfiction Book Group

Secaucus Public Library will offer a nonfiction book discussion 7 p.m. the first Thursday of every month  The group will meet in the NBA conference room on the library’s second floor. Discussions are expected to last between 60 to 90 minutes and are geared towards adults over the age of 18. Registration for the discussion group is strongly encouraged and can be done through the library’s website or by calling library director Jenifer May at 201-330-2083 x4011.

Afternoon Movies
Each Tuesday, the library presents a movie in the Panasonic meeting room. Movies begin at 1:00pm and light refreshments will be served. Movies are for Secaucus residents only.

Daytime Book Group
This group meets at 1:00pm on the second Monday of the month.

Evening Book Group

This group meets at 7:00pm on the fourth Thursday of the month. To join is simple:  just pick up this month’s title at the circulation desk, read it and come to the next meeting. Each book club meets in the second floor NBA meeting room.
